Game Summary
OSHKOSH, Wis. — UW-Oshkosh missed just two of 38 free throw attempts — hitting 33 straight at one point — en route to an 80-55 nonconference victory over the Saint Mary's University men's basketball team Wednesday evening.
The Cardinals (0-2) shot 47 percent from the field in the first half (10 of 21) and actually held the Titans (2-0) to just 30 percent shooting (6 of 20), but UW-Oshkosh hit 20 of 21 first-half free throws in taking a two-point, 34-32, advantage.
UW-Oshkosh continued its torrid free-throw shooting in the second half, making 16 of 17, while outscoring the Cardinals 46-23 to seal the win.
Jason Boll (Sauk Prairie, Wis.) scored 11 points to lead the offensive charge for SMU, while Andy Bohnker (Story City, Iowa), Jason Dzick (Duluth, Minn.) and Brett Johnson (Onalaska, Wis.) all finished with 10.
The Cardinals return to action Wednesday evening, playing host to cross-town rival Winona State in a nonconference game.
