WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University volleyball team ran its winning streak to 10 straight Friday evening, rolling past Gustavus 15-11, 15-11, 16-14 in the second round of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships.
The Cardinals, the tournament's No. 1 seed at the regular-season conference champs, got 13 kills from
Shelley Haake (Carroll, Iowa) and eight from
Diane Wood (Los Alamos, N.M.),
Amanda Edmond (Sandstone, Minn.) and
Rhonda Thibault (Faribault, Minn.) en route to their 24th win of the season.
The Cardinals advance to Saturday's semifinal match against Bethel, a team SMU beat 3-1 during the regular season.
