Game Summary

WINONA, Minn. — Concordia scored two goals in both the second and the third periods en route to a 5-2 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win Saturday afternoon.

Still riding high from their come-from-behind, last-second 3-3 tie on Friday, the Cobbers came out flying Saturday, scoring the game's first goal just 6:10 into the opening period. Brady Burgess and Toby Schneider pushed the Concordia lead to 3-0 with second-period powerplay goals.

SMU cut the lead to two on Jason Fillipp's (Fox River Grove, Ill.) first career goal. Aaron Marsh and SMU's Todd Hangge (Rochester, Minn.) exchanged goals five minutes apart midway through the period, before Concordia's Antonio Castaneda — the hero of Friday's 3-3 tie with his game-tying goal with nine seconds remaining in regulation — closed out the scoring with 40 seconds remaining.

Dan Byron (Edina, Minn.) took the loss in goal for SMU (0-1-1, 0-1-1), despite making 31 saves.
