Cardinals rebeound with rout of UW-EC

WINONA, Minn. — Tennie McCabe (Rochester, Minn.) and Emily McCabe (Hopkins, Minn.) both scored two goals — their first collegiate goals — as the Saint Mary's University women's hockey team rebounded from Friday's 3-0 loss to UW-River Falls with a 10-0 victory over UW-Eau Claire Saturday.

Kearns got the Cardinals off on the right foot, scoring both of her goals in the game's first five minutes. Mo Hayes (Cottage Grove, Minn.), McCabe and Najo Tajima (Huntington Beach, Calif.) also scored in SMU's five-goal first period, while Missy Westergren (Lonsdale, Minn.), Alissa Schultz (LeSeuer, Minn.) and Tasa Kostel (Rochester, Minn.) added second-period tallies.

Kelly O'Neil (Richfield, Minn.) and McCabe closed out the scoring in the third period as SMU pelted UW-Eau Claire goalie Erin Bray with 72 shots. SMU goalie Nitara Frost (North Mankato, Minn.), meanwhile, faced just seven shots in posting the shutout.
