Game Summary

WINONA, Minn. — Lake Forest scored four unanswered goals as the Foresters handed the Saint Mary's University men's hockey team its second straight loss, beating the Cardinals 4-1 Saturday evening at the SMU Ice Arena.

The Cardinals, coming off a 5-1 nonconference loss to St. Norbert on Friday evening, got on the board first at the 11:09 mark of the first period on a goal by Nate Agard (Stillwater, Minn.). Lake Forest got the equalizer just over two minutes later on a powerplay goal by Dave Nozzolillo.

The Foresters put the game out of reach in the second period, scoring three times in a five-minute span to grab a 4-1 lead heading into the third period, where SMU peppered the Lake Forest net with 16 shots, but failed to score.

The Cardinals are now off until Jan. 5, when they play host to UW-Eau Claire in a 7:05 p.m., nonconference game.
