Game Summary

MOORHEAD, Minn. — Jeff Ubben hit two free throws with 10 seconds remaining in regulation as Concordia handed the Saint Mary's University men's basketball team its second straight heartbreaking defeat, 69-68, Monday evening.

The Cardinals, who lost to Carleton 74-72 in the waning seconds of last Saturday's game, led throughout against the Cobbers (5-3 MIAC, 8-4 overall), only to come up empty in losing for the seventh straight time.

Led by the play of Tory Parsons (Apple Valley, Minn), who scored a game-high 19 points and was perfect from the field (4-for-4, including a pair of 3-pointers), Saint Mary's raced out to a 10-point, 36-26, halftime advantage.

The Cardinals maintained the upper hand thoughout most of the second half, only to have the Cobbers pull within one on a 3-pointer by Nathan Ohme and a basket by Robb Flint with just under two minutes to play. After an SMU turnover, Ubben was fouled underneath, setting up his game-winning heroics.

Dusty Ward (Lakeville, Minn.) and Jeff Tendall (LeClaire, Iowa) also scored in double figures for the Cardinals (1-7, 1-10), netting 14 and 10 points, respectively.
