Game Summary

WINONA, Minn. — Macalester shot 51 percent from the field, hitting 22 of 43 attempts en route to an 83-73 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over the Saint Mary's University men's basketball team Wednesday evening at the SMU gym.

The Cardinals (1-8 MIAC, 1-11 overall) trailed by six, 34-28, at the half, and couldn't get any closer as the Scots improved to 4-5 in the MIAC and 6-6 overall.

Jason Boll (Sauk Prairie, Wis.) scored a season-high 21 points — sharing game-high honors with Macalester's Ryan Gerry — for the Cardinals, but it was not enough as SMU lost for the eighth straigh time. Nick Michaels (Dyer, Ind.) and Andy Bohnker (Story City, Iowa) also scored in double figures for the Cardinals, netting 16 and 11 points, respectively.

Gerry's game-high 21 points made him one of four Macalester players to reach double figures. Evan Bass tallied 16, followed by Nick Falk with 15, and Ben Van Thorre with 13.
