ST. PAUL, Minn. — Katie Krebsbach (Mendota Heights, Minn.) posted a pair of first-place finishes, but it was not enough as the Saint Mary's University women's swimming and diving team dropped a 130-75 decision in a dual-meet with Macalester Friday evening.
The Scots completed the sweep of the Cardinals with a 104-81 win over the SMU men.
Krebsbach won both the 200 freestyle (2:11.83) and the 200 backstroke (2:21.36), while the Cardinals also got second-place efforts from Heidi Andre (Fairbanks, Alaska) in the 200 IM (2:31.61) and the 200 butterfly (2:35.03).
The lone win for the SMU men came in the 400 medley relay, where
Scott Schultz (Cary, Ill.),
Shawn McCarthy (Crystal Lake, Ill.),
Kyle Van Lith (Appleton, Wis.) and
Ben Chastek (St. Paul, Minn.) teamed for a time of 3:55.58.
The Cardinal men also had a number of second-place swims, including Van Lith in both the 50 freestyle (23.55) and the 100 freestyle (53.47), Schultz in the 200 backstroke (2:08.01), Chastek in the 200 IM (2:15.26), McCarthy in the 200 breaststroke (2:26.38),
Justin Fenger (North St. Paul, Minn.) in the 500 freestyle (6:13.98),
Brian Travers (Chicago, Ill.) in the 1000 freestyle (11:30.30), Devin Sigulinsky (Muscatine, Iowa) in the 200 freestyle (2:09.56), and
Anthony Gruenke (Sheboygan, Wis.) in the 200 butterfly (2:30.28).
