Game Summary

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. — Jason Boll (Sauk Rapids, Wis.) scored a team-high 15 points, Nick Michaels (Dyer, Ind.) recorded 10 rebounds and the Saint Mary's University men's basketball team led at halftime for the seventh time in its last nine games, but the Cardinals could not hold the lead as they lost for the ninth straight time, 84-70 to St. John's Saturday afternoon.

The Cardinals battled their way to a one-point, 36-35, halftime advantage, thanks in part to a 15-for-29 showing from the field. In the second half, however, SMU hit just 11 of 29 field goals attempts — including 1-for-6 from the 3-point line — as St. John's used a 49-34 second-half burst to seal the win.

Jason Dzick (Duluth, Minn.) and Tory Parsons (Apple Valley, Minn.) also scored in double figures for the Cardinals (1-9 MIAC, 1-12 overall), while Troy Bigalke scored a game-high 24 points to lead four players in double figures for the Johnnies (7-3, 9-5).
