Game Summary

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Emily Kearns (Hopkins, Minn.) took a pass from Missy Westergren (Lonsdale, Minn.) and beat St. Thomas goalie Karissa Stapf with 2:11 remaining in regulation as the Saint Mary's University women's hockey team beat the Tommies 3-2 in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game Saturday afternoon.

After giving up a goal just 27 seconds into the first period, the Cardinals bounced back with a second-period tally by Tennie McCabe (Rochester, Minn.) and a third-period goal by Westergren to take a 2-1 lead midway through the third period. The Tommies managed to get the equalizer at the 12:09 mark, setting up Kearns' late-game heroics.

Missie Meemken (St. Cloud, Minn.), who blanked the Tommies in SMU's 3-0 win on Friday, stopped 23 UST shots on Saturday as the Cardinals (9-2-0 MIAC, 12-4-0) completed the sweep.
