ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's basketball team snapped its season-high four-game winning streak in convincing fashion Wednesday evening, getting a season-high 21 points from Amy Burns (Winona, Minn.) en route to an 80-49 MIAC win over St. Catherine.

The Cardinals, who were looking for their first win since a 57-43 triumph over Hamline on Jan. 10, raced out to a 39-27 halftime advantage, shooting 52 percent from the field. SMU continued its torrid shooting in the second half, tossing in 14 of 26 field goal attempts (54 percent) in outscoring the host Wildcats 41-22 to seal the win.

Colleen O'Hearn (Champlin, Minn.), Melanie Olson (Bird Island, Minn.) and Jaimie Lee (Eden Prairie, Minn.) all scored 10 points for the Cardinals (5-6 MIAC, 6-8 overall). Rachel Burzinski scored 16 points in the losing effort for St. Catherine (0-11, 0-13).
