ST. PAUL, Minn. — Scott Schultz (Cary, Ill.) notched a first and a second, but it wasn't nearly enough as the Saint Mary's University men's swimming and diving team lost to St. Thomas 78-62 in a dual meet Saturday afternoon.

Schultz touched the wall first in the 100 backstroke (58.70) and added a second in the 200 IM (2:18.05) for the Cardinals, who were coming off their first dual meet win of the season on Friday, a 100-75 win over UW-River Falls. Brian Travers (Chicago, Ill.) chipped in a second-place finish in the 500 freestyle (5:27.19).

The women didn't fare much better against the mighty Tommies, getting a first-place effort from Heidi Andre (Fairbanks, Alaska) in the 100 freestyle (1:09.87) in losing 124-94.
