WINONA, Minn. — Missy Pederson led a trio of St. Thomas players in double figures with a game-high 16 points and the Tommies scored more points in the second half than the Saint Mary's University women's basketball team in the entire game en route to an 89-51 victory Wednesday evening at the SMU gym.
The Tommies, who improved to a league-leading 15-1 with their 10 straight victory — and 33rd in a row over SMU — held a 12-point, 36-24, advantage at the half, before erupting for 53 second-half points in completing their season sweep of the Cardinals (6-7 MIAC, 7-9 overall).
Jenny Gilles (Keizer, Ore.) netted 10 points to lead the way for the Cardinals, while Sarah Grudnowski and Jennifer Ulstad joined Pederson in double figures for St. Thomas with 15 and 13 points, respectively.
