Game Summary

ST. PETER, Minn. — Noelle Skalko scored a pair of shorthanded goals in Gustavus' three-goal second period as the Gusties posted a 5-0 shutout of the Saint Mary's University women's hockey team Saturday afternoon.

Ellen Doyle gave the Gusties all the offense they would need, beating SMU goalie Missie Meemken (St. Cloud, Minn.) with a shot at the 16:29 mark of the first period. Gustavus then put the game out of reach with three goals in the second stanza and one more in the third.

Meemken finished with 27 saves as the Cardinals fell to 4-2-0 in the MIAC and 8-4-0 overall. The same two teams square off again Sunday at the SMU Ice Arena in Winona, Minn.
