Game Summary

ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Streak remains in tact.

Macalester handed the Saint Mary's University women's soccer team a 4-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference setback, extending the Scots' home unbeaten streak to 46 straight games — dating back to a 2-1 loss to Washington (Mo.) University on Oct. 12, 1997.

During that span, the Scots have gone 45-0-1 — the lone tie a 1-1 stalemate vs. Washington (Mo.) U. in the 1998 NCAA playoffs — outscoring their opponents 146-11.

In other words, the fact that SMU got shutout by the high-powered Scots is nothing new. Not on Macalester's home field, anyway.

Anna Gierke scored a pair of goals for Macalester (8-1-0 MIAC, 12-3-0 overall), including the first of two the Scots netted in a 40-second span early in the first half. Licinia McMorrow also scored during Macalester's three-goal first half, while Erin Hoople netted the Scots' final goal two minutes into the second half.

Goalkeeper Colleen O'Hearn (Champlin, Minn.) finished with 11 saves in goal for the Cardinals (1-8-1 MIAC, 3-11-2 overall).
