Game Summary

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — Eric Luzzi was hoping his Saint Mary's University men's soccer team had left its losing ways out West when they left California Tuesday morning.

They didn't.

After losing back-to-back games to Pomona-Pitzer (2-0) and Chapman (4-3) last Sunday and Monday, the Cardinals saw their losing streak hit three straight — and eight losses in their last nine games — with a 2-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference setback to Bethel Saturday afternoon.

After battling to a 0-0 tie through the game's first 45 minutes, the Royals came out firing in the second half, scoring back-to-back goals less than three minutes apart. Tim Pelliteri netted the first at the 51:50 mark, and Jerad Schack made it 2-0 at the 53-minute mark to account for the game's only scoring.

Matt Peck (Eau Claire, Wis.) took the loss in goal for SMU (3-5-0 MIAC, 6-9-1 overall), despite making seven saves.
