ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University volleyball team made it a clean sweep Saturday afternoon, as the Cardinals posted their second straight 3-0 victory, beating St. Catherine 30-16, 30-26, 32-30 in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match.

Less than 24 hours after the Cardinals disposed of Macalester in three straight, the Cardinals picked up right where they left off against St. Catherine, getting a match-high 12 kills from Rhonda Thibault (Faribault, Minn.), while Erin Coleman (Austin, Minn.) and Katie Christensen (Crystal Lake, Ill.) chipped in six kills each. Melissa Cowan (Algonquin, Ill.) tallied 36 assist for SMU, which improved to 6-2 in the MIAC and 10-10 overall.

"We played very well in both matches," said SMU coach Mike Lester. "After losing to St. Olaf (3-0 last Wednesday), we wanted to make sure to come out and get back on the winning track this weekend. I was very pleased with our performance."
