Game Summary

WINONA, Minn. — The streak continues.

Missie Meemken (St. Cloud, Minn.) stopped all 27 shots she faced and Christy Hicks (Bloomington, Minn.) and Emily Kearns (Hopkins, Minn.) scored goals, as the Saint Mary's University women's hockey team shut out St. Thomas 2-0 Saturday evening.

The victory, along with Friday's 1-1 conference-opening tie, pushed SMU's unbeaten streak to 10 straight (9-0-1) against the Tommies.

Hicks gave SMU all the offense it would need, beating UST goalie Karissa Stapf with a shot at the 16:18 mark of the first period. Kearns added an empty-net goal with 36 seconds remaining in regulation to ice the win.

But with Meemken in goal, Kearns' tally was hardly needed. The junior netminder stopped 10 shots in the first period, nine in the second and eight in the third en route to her first shutout of the season.
