Game Summary
NORTHFIELD, Minn. — Saint Mary's University women's basketball coach Kim Fierke will be the first to admit that the Cardinals' performance against St. Olaf was not their best effort.
In fact, on a scale from 1 to 10, she might rank Wednesday's effort as a seven or eight – and they still won.
"It was a decent performance, but certainly not one of our better ones," said Fierke, whose team had just won its fourth straight game and pushed its conference record to 3-0 with a 68-58 victory over St. Olaf. "It was nice to see us be able to pull out a win, even when we didn't play at our best."
Amy Burns (Winona, Minn.) led the Cardinals' offensive charge, scoring a game-high 17 points, while Jaimie Lee (Eden Prairie, Minn.) chipped in 13 points and Jamie Rattunde (Rollingstone, Minn.) recorded her first collegiate double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
SMU shot 41 percent from the field en route to opening up a 34-25 halftime advantage, then outscored the Oles 34-33 over the game's final 20 minutes to secure the victory.
Liz Woodrow netted 14 points to lead the Oles.
