WINONA, Minn. —
Jaimie Lee (Eden Prairie, Minn.) scored 14 points and
Jenny Gilles (Keizer, Ore.) chipped in 13 as the Saint Mary's University women's basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 71-57 victory over Augsburg Saturday afternoon at the SMU Gym.
The Cardinals scored 42 points in the first half, shooting 55 percent from the field (19-for-34), as SMU grabbed an 11-point, 42-31 halftime advantage and never looked back in improving to 7-8 in the MIAC and 8-10 overall.
Jaime Kingsley scored a game-high 20 points, while Kelly Chapman and Rowena Sizer chipped in 10 each in the losing effort for Augsburg (7-8 MIAC, 9-9 overall).
Colleen O'Hearn (Champlin, Minn.),
Alissa Erichsen (Spring Valley, Minn.) and
Jenny Rihm (Woodbury, Minn.) all finished with eight points for the Cardinals.
