ST. PAUL, Minn. — Katie Jensen scored a game-high 18 points and Hamline made 20 of its 29 first-half shots en route to a 45-23 halftime advantage as the Pipers knocked off the Saint Mary's University women's basketball team 64-58 Wednesday evening.

While the Pipers were shooting lights-out in the first half, the Cardinals struggled from the field, connecting on just 9 of 26 attempts in falling behind by 22 at the break.

The teams changed roles in the second half, as SMU outscored Hamline 35-19, but the first-half hole the Cardinals had dug was too deep as they saw their two-game winning streak come to a screeching halt.

Amy Burns (Winona, Minn.) scored a team-high 15 points, while Alissa Erichsen (Spring Valley, Minn.) chipped in 10 in the losing effort for Saint Mary's (8-9 MIAC, 9-11 overall). Sarah Wishard and Amanda Kopischke each chipped in 12 points for Hamline.
