McMahon leads Cardinals' offense barrage

DALLAS, Texas — David McMahon (Coon Rapids, Minn.) went 3-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs and Joe Duda (Rochester, Minn.) continued his torrid start with a pair of hits in four at-bats as the Saint Mary's University baseball team improved to 2-1 with a 10-1 victory over Concordia-Illinois Saturday afternoon.

The Cardinals, who lost to Concordia-Illinois in their opener Friday, broke open a 2-1 game with four runs in the top of the sixth and four more in the top of the seventh.

Scott Morrison (St. Paul, Minn.) launched SMU's first home run of the season and drove in a pair of runs, while Brad Huegel (Alta Vista, Iowa) also drove in a pair of runs to lead the Cardinals' offensive onslaught.

Andy Ebert (Winona, Minn.) picked up the pitching win, going five innings and allowing just one earned run, while walking two and striking out five.
