WINONA, Minn. — Bethel picked up straight-set victories in five of the six singles matches en route to a 7-0 MIAC win over the Saint Mary's University men's tennis team Friday.
The Cardinals (0-1 MIAC, 0-2 overall) picked up a win at No. 1 doubles as
Geoff Granseth (Winona, Minn.) and
Brad Reichuber (Mahtomedi, Minn.) posted an 8-5 win, but the Royals bounced back to win at both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to secure the one team point.
Drew Jackola (Chisholm, Minn.) opened his No. 3 singles match with a 6-2 win, dropped teh second set 6-2 and lost the third in a tiebreaker 7-6. Reichuber lost his first set at No. 2 singles in a tiebreaker, but no other SMU player managed to win more than four games in a set.
