ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's team posted its third staight victory Saturday afternoon, as the Cardinals cruised past Macalester 7-2 in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match.
The Cardinals, who had never beaten the Scots before, won five of the six singles matches in straight sets, then added victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles in extending their season-high winning streak to three.
Christina Tobin (Houston, Texas),
Nicole Hilo (Mendota Heights, Minn.),
Anna Tomes (Stillwater, Minn.),
Dena Bing (Cannon Falls, Minn.) and
Keely Nyquist (Orono, Minn.) all won in straight sets at Nos. 2-6 singles, respectively, while Tomes and Bing, and Tobin and Nyquist teamed for SMU's doubles wins.
