ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University baseball team inched closer to locking up a berth in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference post-season tournament Saturday afternoon — but it wasn't easy.

The Cardinals (14-2 MIAC, 16-4 overall) got an eighth-inning RBI from Scott Morrison (St. Paul, Minn.) to beat Bethel 7-6 in the opening game, then came back with an impressive 13-3 victory in the nightcap as SMU banged out 12 hits — including a 4-for-5, 2 RBI effort from Greg Setterlund (St. Paul, Minn.).

Morrison, who pushed SMU to a 2-1 victory over Gustavus with an eighth-inning home run on Thursday, finished Saturday's first game game with three hits in five at-bats, while Rob Kimlinger (Lake Elmo, Minn.) was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Matt Domarus (Woodbury, Minn.) belted a two-run home run, his team-leading fifth of the year.

In the nightcap, Andy Campbell (Omaha, Neb.) chipped in three hits in four at-bats and drove in two runs, while Jamie Nowaczewski (St. Paul, Minn.) was 2-for-2 with a pair of RBIs and David McMahon (Coon Rapids, Minn.) belted a home run.
