Game Summary

NORTHFIELD, Minn. — If the Saint Mary's University men's soccer team wanted to use its first two games of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedule as a chance to make a statement, it would be one that 's heard loud and clear.

Just ask Augsburg and Carleton.

The Cardinals, behind the play of Eric Brown (Cary, Ill.), Shawn Stewart (McHenry, Ill.) and Matt Peck (Eau Claire, Wis.), posted their second straight MIAC victory Saturday afternoon, routing Carleton 3-0.

Three days removed from their MIAC-opening 3-1 rout of Augsburg last Wednesday, the Cardinals boast a 6-1 scoring advantage through its first two conference games.

Brown had a hand — make that foot — in all three Cardinal goals, scoring both first-half tallies and assisting on Stewart's second-half goal. Peck, meanwhile, stopped all four shots he faced to record the shutout in goal.
