ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University volleyball team extended its Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference winning streak to three matches Wednesday evening, as the Cardinals rolled to a 3-0 (30-17, 30-16, 30-17) victory over Hamline.

Leslie Nicholls (Hastings, Minn.) finished with a team-leading nine kills, while Rhonda Thibault (Faribault, Minn.) chipped in seven, as SMU made quick work of the Pipers.

"We weren't taking anything for granted," said SMU coach Mike Lester, whose team improved to 3-1 in the MIAC and 6-7 overall. "With the conference as tough as it is, you have to make sure you are prepared to play at your best every time you step on the court. We were ready to go (Wednesday) and it showed."

Melissa Cowan (Algonquin, Ill.) finished with 33 set assists and a team-leading four blocks, while Ashley Dingels (Gibbon, Minn.) posted a .714 attack percentage (5 kills in 7 attempts).
