Game Summary
MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University men's basketball team saw on losing streak come to an end and another continue Saturday afternoon against Concordia.
Unfortunately for the Cardinals, it was the Cobbers' three-game losing streak that came to a halt as Cocnordia handed SMU its second straight setback, a 69-49 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference decision.
The Cardinals, who had defeated Concordia 59-58 on Brett Johnson's (Onalaska, Wis.) free throw with no time on the clock two weeks ago, struggled from the field in the second half, shooting just 27 percent (6 of 22) and scoring just 21 points as Concordia turned a four-game halftime nailbiter into a 20-point laugher with a 37-21 second-half run.
Lance Larson (Lakeville, Minn.) scored a game-high 15 points in the losing effort for the Cardinals (3-6 MIAC, 3-9 overall). Larson was the only player in double figures for SMU, which also got nine points from Nick Michaels (Dyer, Ind.) and eight points from Johnson.
John Breneman scored 12 points and Robb Flint and Jared Swanson each added 10 as Concordia won for the first time since Dec. 8.
