Game Summary
NORTHFIELD, Minn. — After failing to score a goal in his first 11 games,
Brian Reddish (Crystal Lake, Ill.) has suddenly acquired the Midas Touch — everything he kicks seems to go in the net.
And that's been good news for the Saint Mary's University men's soccer team.
Reddish scored at least one goal for the third straight game Tuesday afternoon, leading the Cardinals to a 2-1 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win over St. Olaf.
During his current three-game scoring binge, Reddish — the reigning MIAC Player of the Week — scored SMU's lone goal in a 2-1 overtime loss to Hamline last Wednesday, then netted both goals in the Cardinals' 2-1 triumph over Bethel last Saturday.
Reddish tallied the Cardinals' first goal vs. the Oles — making him accountable for four straight SMU goals — as they jumped out to a 1-0 halftime advantage.
Mike Boland (Lake Zurich, Ill.) pushed the Cardinals' lead to 2-0 with his team-leading 11th goal of the season, before St. Olaf finally got on the board to cut the lead to 2-1.
