WINONA, Minn. — Winona State University made it look easy Thursday afternoon, as the Warriors rolled to a 9-0 nonconference victory over the Saint Mary's University women's tennis team.
The Warriors rolled to straight-set wins in five of the six singles matches, with
Beth Carroll (Chicago, Ill.) forcing a third set at No. 5 singles, before falling 6-4, 3-6, 7-6.
The Cardinals didn't find the road much easier in doubles play, either as
Nicole Hilo (Mendota Heights, Minn.) and
Joni Peterson (New London, Minn.) were blanked 8-0 at No. 1, while
Dena Bing (Cannon Falls, Minn.)-
Jennifer Duffy (Chicago, Ill.) lost 8-1 at No. 2 and
Keely Nyquist (St. Paul, Minn.)-Angie Bessel (Hastings, Minn.) fell 8-4 at No. 3
