HILTON HEAD, S.C. — The Saint Mary's University men's tennis team's three-match winning streak came to a screeching halt Tuesday afternoon, as the Cardinals came out on the short end of a 9-0 decision against St. Olaf.
"There's really not much I can say — St. Olaf just took it to us," said SMU coach
Jeff Halberg. "It's nolt that we played that poorly, St. Olaf just played so well. They are such a deep team . We just couldn't stay with them."
The Oles swept all six singles matches in straight sets, with the Cardinals failing to win more than three games in any of the 12 sets. St. Olaf dominated the doubles matches as well, winning 8-0- at No. 1, 8-4 at No. 2 and 8-1 at No. 3
