Game Summary

ST. PETER, Minn. — Gustavus didn't waste any time showing the Saint Mary's University women's soccer team who was the boss, as the Gusties scored early — and often — en route to a 5-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win Wednesday afternoon.

Gustavus scored four goals before the game was even seven minutes old in handing SMU its eighth straight loss of the season.

Britanee Pelikan scored the first of her three goals just 1:12 into the first half, then added her second at the 4:59 mark. Birabwa Mutebi made it 3-0 just 38 seconds later, and Jackie Lehman completed GAC's early-game onslaught, scoring at the 6:58 mark. Pelikan completed her hat trick four minutes before half time as the Gusties converted on five of their 19 shots on goal.

Nicole Bohn (Winona, Minn.) stopped four shots in the first half, with Emily Strom (Waterford, Wis.) coming on in relief in the second half and making 10 saves. SMU, meanwhile, managed just one shot on goal.
