Game Summary

WINONA, Minn. — What a difference a year makes.

Last season, the Saint Mary's University women's hockey team dominated its game against UW-Eau Claire, getting goals from Missy Westergren and Christy Hicks (Bloomington, Minn.) and an 18-save performance from Missie Meemken (St. Cloud, Minhn.) en route to a 2-0 victory over the Blugolds.

This season, the Blugolds turned the tables — twice.

After posting a 2-0 victory over the Cardinals earlier this season, the Blugolds completed their two-game, nonconference sweep of the Cardinals, blanking SMU for a second time, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at the SMU Ice Arena.

Kristi Hawkinson, Connie Cameron and Christa Hubert all scored goals for the Blugolds, while Tara Berlutte stopped all 23 shots she faced in blanking the Cardinals for the second time this season.

The Blugolds' powerplay seemed to be unstoppable, as they converted on two of five man advantages, while SMU was 0-for-7 on the powerplay.
