Game Summary

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's hockey team turned in a repeat performance Sunday afternoon, scoring three goals against host St. Benedict.

SMU goalie Missie Meemken (St. Cloud, Minn.) did herself one better.

After stopping 29 of the Blazers' 30 shots in Saturday's 3-1 SMU victory, the Cardinals' senior goalie stopped all 24 shots in Sunday's rematch as the Cardinals completed the sweep with a 3-0 victory.

"We played very well defensively," said SMU coach Duncan Ryhorchuk, whose team improved to 8-3-3 in the MIAC and jumped into a third-place tie with Concordia. "We created a couple of good scoring opportunities and made them count."

Tennie McCabe (Rochester, Minn.) gave SMU all the scoring it would need, netting her second goal in as many days in the first period. Emily Kearns (Hopkins, Minn.) and Tasa Kostel (Rochester, Minn.) tallied third-period goals, but with Meemken between the pipes, SMU's third-period tallies were hardly needed.
