WINONA, Minn. — The score was the same, but unfortunately for the Saint Mary's University women's tennis team, the victor wasn't.
Just a day after opening their season with a 6-3 win over Macalester, the SMU women were handed a 6-3 nonconference defeat by St. Scholastica Sunday at St. T's Tennis & Sports.
Amanda Clark (Waseca, Minn.) and Angie Beissel (Hastings, Minn.) recorded singles victories for the Cardinals — with Clark needing three sets to win at No. 3.
SMU's third point came at No. 2 doubles, where Beissel teamed with
Jennifer Duffy (Chicago, Ill.) for an 8-6 win.
