Game Summary

ST. PAUL, Minn. — There's a reason the Macalester has won five straight Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles — and the Saint Mary's University women's soccer team got a firsthand less in MIAC Dominance 101 Tuesday evening.

The Scots scored four goals in the first half and two in the second, and held the Cardinals without a shot on goal en route to their 16th consecutive conference shutout, beating SMU 6-0.

"We were dominated from start to finish," said SMU coach Dan Blank, whose team was outshot 20-0 in dropping its conference opener to fall to 1-6 overall. "They gave us a soccer lesson."

The lesson began with Meghan Leahey's goal at the 21:36 mark, and concluded when Leahey netted her second of the game 17 minutes into the second half. In between, Katie Pastorius, Sarah Oviatt, Meddy Ruegg and Annie Borton also scored for the Scots, who are currently ranked No. 16 in the latest NSCAA national poll.

Nicole Bohn (Winona, Minn.) started in goal for the Cardinals (0-1-0 MIAC, 1-6-0 overall), stopping 10 of the 16 shots she faced. Dianna Kyllo (Kasson, Minn.) played the final 30 minutes, stopping five shots.
