WINONA, Minn. — The streak continued for
Tyler Stevenson (Neenah, Wis.) Wednesday afternoon, as the Saint Mary's University tennis player won his fifth straight singles match, posting a 6-3, 6-3 win over Luther's Ryan Sommers.
Unfortunately for the Cardinals, Stevenson's streak wasn't the only one that remained in tact Wednesday, as Luther won the other five singles matches and two of the three doubles matches in handing SMU its third straight loss, 6-1.
"We ran into a tough Luther team," said SMU coach
Jeff Halberg. "According to their coach, their No. 3, 4 and 5 singles players played their best tennis of the year — and they had to choose us to do it against.
"Tyler played another strong match — he is just unstoppable right now."
