Game Summary

ST. PETER, Minn. — Saint Mary's University men's soccer team Eric Luzzi is confident that his team is going to break out of its scoring slump.

He knows it's going to happen, it's just a matter of when.

And he's becoming impatient — very impatient.

The Cardinals suffered their fourth straight shutout loss Wednesday afternoon, as Gustavus scored twice in the first half and once in the second en route to a 3-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory.

Caleb Bousu opened the scoring for Gustavus, beating SMU goalkeeper Bob Endemann (Woodridge, Ill.) at the 25-minute mark. Three minutes later, Matt Broin got into the act, taking a feed from Bousu and beating Endemann to give the Gusties a 2-0 advantage.

Taylor Stein closed out the scoring at the 70-minute mark as the Gusties remained unbeaten, improving to 3-0-1 in the MIAC and 8-0-2 overall.

The Cardinals (0-3-0 MIAC, 1-5-2 overall), who have been outscored 11-0 during their current four-game slide, return to action Saturday, playing host to Concordia in a 2 p.m. match.
