Box Score Game Summary
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — If the Saint Mary's University men's hockey team was feeling any ill effects from Friday's 4-1 loss to Milwaukee School of Engineering, the Cardinals certainly didn't show it in the teams' rematch Saturday.
In their final nonconference game before closing out the season with 12 straight conference games, the Cardinals got single goals in both the second and third periods and held off a late Raider charge to beat MSOE 2-1.
Jesse Polk (Hastings, Minn.) opened the scoring for the Cardinals in Saturday's rematch, netting his team-leading eighth goal of the season in the second period.
Adam Fingerhut (Oak Brook, Ill.) then netted what proved to be the game-winner early in the third period, Ryne Ess (Eden Prairie, Minn.) lost his bid for a shutout on the 29th and final shot he faced, as as the Raiders converted on the powerplay with five seconds remaining in regulation.
