Game Summary
FOND DU LAC, Wis. — The Saint Mary's University women's soccer team picked up its second straight win Sunday evening — but it was anything but easy.
The Cardinals rallied from a one-goal deficit to beat Marian 2-1 for their second consecutive one-goal victory.
Kayla Haupt put Marian on the board first, beating SMU goalkeeper Jennifer Johnson (Racine, Wis.) in the game's 30th minute.
That, however, would be the last time the Panthers would beat Johnson — while the Cardinals' offense was just warming up.
Madeline Pieper (Harvard, Ill.) took a feed from Louise Irvine (Belfast, Northern Ireland) and rifled a shot past Marian keeper Tami Ebbers to pull SMU even with less than three minutes remaining in the opening half.
Lisa Tlougan (Rochester, Minn.) and the Cardinals picked up right where they left off in the second half, as Tlougan netted the game-winner four minutes into the game's final 45 minutes.
The Cardinals, 2-0 for the first time since SMU went 7-0-0 to start the season in 1999, returns to action Monday, traveling to Ripon for a 4 p.m. nonconference matchup.
