Game Summary
RIPON, Wis. — Heading into last Sunday's game against Marian, Saint Mary's University's
Lisa Tlougan (Rochester, Minn.) had not scored a goal in her collegiate women's soccer career.
Two games later, and the Cardinal sophomore has scored twice.
Tlougan scored her second goal in as many days, and
Bridgette Baggio (Glenview, Ill.) scored the first two goals as a Cardinal, as SMU ran its season-opening winning streak to three straight with a convincing 4-0 win over Ripon Monday afternoon.
Baggio, who missed all of last season with a knee injury, gave the Cardinals all the offense they would need, scoring nine minutes into the first half and three minutes into the second to give SMU a 2-0 advantage. Tlougan made it 3-0 11 minutes later, and
Michele McQuillan (St. Paul, Minn.) rounded out the scoring with her first of the year — and, following the lead of Tlougan and Baggio, the first of her career — at the 72-minute mark to round out the scoring.
Jennifer Johnson (Racine, Wis.) stopped all three shots she faced en route to her second shutout in three games.
The Cardinals continue their season-opening five-game road trip this weekend, traveling to North Central on Saturday and Benedictine on Sunday, before returning home for their home opening Tuesday, Sept. 13 against Hamline.
