TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Amanda Weinmann (Rochester, Minn.) entered Saturday's shot put competition at the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships ranked No. 8.

She exited her final indoor national championships ranked No. 8.

And an All-American.

Weinmann uncorked a toss of 13.07 meters to place eighth among the 16-person field, while teammate Ashley Luehmann — seeded 10th entering Saturday's competition — stayed true to her seeding, finishing 10th with a throw of 12.76 meters.

"It was good day for Saint Mary's track and field," said SMU coach Kirk Nauman. "I thought both Amanda and Ashley did a good job. When you come into a competition like this, your mind-set has to be to go out there and do you best — and hope your best is good enough.

"And that's exactly what both of them did today."

Weinmann, who placed 10th in the weight throw on Friday, posting a toss of 15.26 meters, earned her second career All-American honor with her eighth-place finish Saturday, and Nauman is hoping the indoor season-finale is a sign of things to come for the senior duo in the outdoor season.

"Amanda and Ashley both had great indoor seasons, and they should be proud of what they've accomplished," Nauman said. "But this is just the first half of their season — I think the indoor season has set both of them up to have great outdoor seasons as well."
