Last Action: The Cardinals stayed with Gustavus for most of the game's opening 20 minutes, but the Gusties used a 9-4 run to end the half and never looked back in handing SMU an 81-62 setback Monday evening at the SMU Gym. … St. Thomas, meanwhile, stayed perfect on the season, winning its sixth straight, beating Augsburg 86-58 at UST's Schoenecker Arena Monday.

A Year Ago: The Tommies posted a pair of conference wins over the Cardinals in the teams' two MIAC meetings a year ago. Will Wright (Chicago, Ill.) scored a game-high 24 points, but it was not enough, as UST used a 26-19 run over the game's final 12 minutes to escape the SMU Gym with a 72-65 win on Nov. 28. St. Thomas then got scoring from 15 different players — including a game-high 15 points from Alex Healy — and scored more points in the second half (54) than the Cardinals did in the entire game (49), as the Tommies  rolled to a 100-49 victory on Jan. 23.
