WINONA, Minn. – The Saint Mary's University volleyball team honors its four graduating seniors, who are playing their final regular-season home match Tuesday evening when the Cardinals play host to Northwestern (Minn.) in a 7 p.m. nonconference contest.

Cardinal Notes: The Cardinals are coming off their third straight five-set match, having already gone five in a 3-2 win vs. Saint Benedict (Oct. 8) and a 3-2 loss to Concordia (Oct. 10) prior to Wednesday's win over St. Catherine. … SMU posted season highs in digs (85) and kills (79) en route to their 18th win of the season. The Cardinals' 79 kills are the most since recording 83 kills in a five-set, 3-2 win over Saint Benedict on Sept. 24, 2004. … Jessica Mate (St. Charles, Ill.) who earned MIAC Hitter of the Week honors after collecting a season-best 19 kills in both of SMU's matchs vs. CSB and Concordia, collected a career-best 24 kills and hit .444 in SMU's win over St. Catherine. … Brittany Cherwinka (Faribault, Minn.) recorded her second 60-plus assist performance in her last three matches, dishing out a career-high 65 assists vs. the Wildcats Wednesday. The senior setter, who is just 55 assists away from 2,000 for her three-year SMU career, has now recorded 181 assists in SMU's last three matches combined. … Courtney Runge (St. James, Minn.) posted a season- and career-high 21 digs vs. St. Catherine, moving the senior within 22 digs of 1,000 for her career. … Erika Hurley (Chatfield, Minn.) finished with a career-high 20 digs vs. the Wildcats. … Runge and Sarah Gardner (Rochester, Minn.) have each eclipsed the century mark in both kills and digs, with Runge boasting 232 kills and 284 digs, while Gardner has totaled a team-leading 280 kills and 132 digs. … Tara Rasmussen (Kasson, Minn.) leads the team in digs with 370 and is one of six Cardinals with 100 or more digs. … With Wednesday's win, SMU improved to 5-2 in five-set matches.
