WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's hockey team, coming off a 2-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory against Concordia Friday evening at the SMU Ice Arena, returns to conference play Saturday, playing host to Concordia in the second of back-to-back 7 p.m. contests against the Cobbers at the SMU Ice Arena.

Last Night: The Cardinals got third-period goals from Nicole Olson (New Brighton, Minn.) and Ingrid Klockars (Wheaton, Ill.), and Kaye Collier (Hibbing, Minn.) stopped all 29 shots she faced, as SMU shut out the Cobbers 2-0 Friday evening at the SMU Ice Arena.

A Year Ago: The Cobbers had the upper hand a year ago, beating SMU twice in Moorhead, Minn.

November 21, 2008: The Cardinals scored twice in the game's opening 10 minutes to take a 2-0 lead over Concordia Friday evening, only to have the Cobbers score five unanswered goals — including three in the final 10 minutes of the first period — en route to a 5-2 victory over SMU at the Moorhead Sports Center.

November 22, 2008:
Bri Bian scored a pair of goals, and Cobber goalie Julie York stopped all 17 SMU shots, as Concordia completed the conference sweep with a 2-0 victory at the Moorhead Sports Center.

Nicole Olson (New Brighton, Minn.) and Ingrid Klockars (Wheaton, Ill.) each scored their fourth goal of the season to account for SMU's two goals vs. the Cobbers Friday evening, while Erin Stenseth (Eau Claire, Wis.) recorded her team-leading fourth assist on Olson's third-period tally. … Kaye Collier (Hibbing, Minn.) — who stopped all 23 shots she faced in notching her first collegiate shutout last Friday against St. Catherine — made it back-to-back Friday shutouts with her 29-save effort vs. the Cobbers last night. … Jamie Henneman (Countryside, Ill.) accounted for all three SMU goals vs. St. Catherine last weekend. Henneman recorded her first collegiate two-goal game in last Friday's 2-0 SMU victory, then netted the Cardinals' lone tally in Saturday's 2-1 loss. … Henneman now leads the team in goals (5), while her seven points are also a team best. … Stevie Fiek (Rochester, Minn.) — who scored both of her goals this season in a 6-2 win over Hamline on Nov. 20 — shares the team lead in assists with Stenseth with four. … Along with her two goals vs. the Pipers on Nov. 20, Fiek also collected three assists for her first collegiate five-point game. …  Collier enters tonight's game vs. Concordia boasting a 1.61 goals-against-average and a .937 save percentage. … The Cardinals have outscored their opponents 9-2 in the first period. SMU's opponents, meanwhile, have netted 16 of their 18 goals in the second and third periods combined — including a 10-4 scoring advantage in the third period. … The Cardinals have been held to two goals or less in seven of their nine games this season. … SMU's six goals in its 6-2 win over Hamline on Nov. 20 are the most in a game since the Cardinals beat Hamline 8-0 on Feb. 25, 2004.
