Last Action: The Cardinals, who had put an end to their six-game losing streak with a 65-62 win at St. Olaf on Saturday, struggled from the field in their final road game Wednesday, falling behind 42-23 at the break and never recovering in falling to Concordia 74-47 in Moorhead, Minn. … Augsburg, meanwhile, got 11 points and seven rebounds from Serenae Levine, but it was not enough, as Carleton handed the Auggies a 65-48 conference setback in Northfield, Minn., Wednesday.

In the first game on Jan. 16, 2008, Augsburg outscored SMU 24-21 in the game's opening 20 minutes and never relinquished its lead, as the Auggies handed SMU a 62-58 MIAC setback at the SMU Gym. … In the rematch, Augsburg held SMU to a season-low 17 second-half points in breaking opening a five-point game and rolling to a 64-46 conference victory on Feb. 20 at the SMU Gym.

Cardinal Notes: Cherie Kulgi (Independence, Wis.) scored a team-high 11 points vs. the Cobbers Wednesday. It was the second straight game in which Kulig led the team in scoring, having netting 19 points in the Cardinals' streak-snapping win over St. Olaf last Saturday. … Last Saturday's win over St. Olaf snapped a pair of streaks for the Cardinals. The 65-62 win put an end to a six-game losing streak, while also snapping a 19-game road losing streak, which dated back to a 57-54 victory over St. Olaf on Jan. 5, 2008. … With Wednesday's loss at Concordia, however, SMU finished the season 1-12 on the road. … Last Saturday's win over St. Olaf was SMU's second straight 65-62 victory over the Oles this season. It was also the fourth straight win vs. St. Olaf. … Three of the last four meetings between SMU and St. Olaf have been decided by three points. … Jesa Hall (Glenwood City, Wis.) scored 11 points vs. St. Olaf last Saturday. The 11 3-pointers were one shy of the team's season high. … Jess Miller (Carver, Minn.) and Kulig# enter today's game vs. the Auggies averaging in double figures, with Miller boasting a team-best 11.1 ppg average, while Kulig is close behind at 10.7 ppg. …  SMU's 73-69 win over Bethel on Jan. 24 was the Cardinals' first overtime game since a 66-60 OT loss to St. Olaf on Jan. 31, 2007. The last time SMU had won an overtime game was a 75-73 OT win over — ironically — Bethel on Jan. 2, 2006. …  SMU's 73 points vs. Bethel on Jan. 24 were a season high, and the most scored by the Cardinals since netting 73 in a 73-59 win over Augsburg on Jan. 13, 2007.
 
Auggie Notes: Wednesday's loss to Carleton was the sixth straight for Augsburg, which is looking for its first win since beating the Cardinals 69-66 on Jan. 19. That win vs. SMU had snapped a 10-game Auggie losing streak. … Augsburg was held to a season-low 36 points in its 61-36 loss to Bethel last Saturday. … Serenae Levine scored a team-best 11 points vs. Carleton. It was 10th time this season the Auggie freshman has scored in double figures, and the second straight game in which she's led the team in scoring. … Levine and Shannon Renne enter today's game leading the team in scoring, averaging 10.1 and 10.0 ppg, respectively. … In two seasons, Renne's 80 career 3-pointers already stand fifth in school history; the record, 149, was set by Katie LaGrave (2004-08). … Christa Suedbeck is tied for second in the conference in rebounding (8.6 rpg). Suedbeck also stands third among league players in blocked shots (41, 2.05 bpg).
