Last Meeting: SMU managed just 18 points over the game's opening 20 minutes, and the Cardinals weren't much better in the second half, scoring just 22 as St. Thomas rolled to a 102-40 conference win at UST's Schoenecker Arena on Dec. 10.

A Year Ago: The Tommies swept the teams' conference series a year ago. St. Thomas raced out to a 32-point second half lead, then held off a late, 20-2 SMU run to post a 78-62 MIAC win on Nov. 28. UST then completed the season sweep, getting a 3-pointer from Chelsea Wirtz with six seconds remaining to break a 52-52 tie and send the Tommies to the 55-52 victory.

Cardinal Notes: After putting together their first two-game winning streak of the season with wins over Macalester and Bethel, the Cardinals have now dropped two straight and fallen to 3-3 in their last six games. … SMU's 73-69 win over Bethel on Jan. 24 was the Cardinals' first overtime game since a 66-60 OT loss to St. Olaf on Jan. 31, 2007. It was the second straight game in which SMU failed to record a double-figure scorer. Gustavus had limited Miller to nine points in last Wednesday's 65-48 loss. SMU has had a player score 10 or more points in 84 of its last 92 games. …  Miller scored a career-high 23 points in leading the Cardinals to their double-OT win over Bethel on Jan. 24. … Jesa Hall (Glenwood City, Wis.) scored a team- and career-best 21 points in SMU's 69-66 loss at Augsburg on Jan. 19. Hall's previous career high was 15 points, a total she has now equaled four times this season. … The Cardinals' loss at Saint Benedict last Saturday dropped SMU to 0-10 on the road this season. SMU is now 1-21 in their last 22 road games, with their lone road win a 57-54 victory over St. Olaf on Jan. 5, 2008. … SMU's 73 points vs. Bethel on Jan. 24 were a season high, and the most scored by the Cardinals since netting 73 in a 73-59 win over Augsburg on Jan. 13, 2007. It was also just the fourth time this season the Cardinals have scored 60 or more points. … On the flip side, SMU was held to 41 points vs. Saint Benedict, marking the second straight game, and sixth time this season, the Cardinals have failed to score 50 or more points.
