Szafranski had posted back-to-back shutouts vs. Martin Luther and Crown. … Szafranski made three saves vs. St. Norbert Saturday, giving him eight saves for the season and a record-setting 310 for his SMU career. … SMU's 2-0 start to the season had marked the second time in the last four years the Cardinals have opened the season with back-to-back wins.
