Sunday's 3-2, 2 OT decision vs. Lakeland was the fourth straight nonconference contest for the Cardinals, who have just one non-league game among their final nine contests. … Byran Neu's (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) game-winning, double-overtime goal vs. Lakeland Sunday was his first collegiate goal. … Ryan Rademacher (La Crosse, Wis.) netted his third goal in as many games vs. Lakeland, while Juamaine Venter (Rochester, Minn.) netted the first goal of his Cardinal career to send Sunday's game into OT. … Steve Boussie (Troy, Mich.) assisted on SMU's first two goals Sunday, giving him the team lead in both assists (3) and points (7). … Rademacher, meanwhile, is the team-leader in goals with three. … Jon Szafranski (Barrington, Ill.) stopped a career-high 18 Viterbo shots — including two in each of the two OT sessions — last Wednesday. Szafranski's previous career-best was a 16-save effort against Puget Sound on Sept. 7, 2008. … Szafranski, who finished with three saves vs. the Muskies Sunday, enters today's game with a 1.52 goals-against-average and an .800 save percentage. He has now stopped 55 shots this season, pushing his school-record career saves total to 361. … Sunday's win marked the first time the Cardinals have won this season when not shutting out their opponent. … Sunday's game was the second OT contest of the week — and the season — for SMU. Gustavus Gustie Notes: Saturday's loss at Saint John's not only snapped GAC's two-game winning streak, but also snapped the Gusties' four-game unbeaten streak (3-0-1). … Both of Gustavus' losses have come via shutout — 2-0 vs. Pacific Lutheran on Sept. 7 and 1-0 vs. Saint John's Saturday. … In their four wins, GAC has outscored its opponents 12-3. … The Gusties have played three overtime games already this season, going 1-0-2. … Bret Vander Streek and Mark Adams share the team lead in goals with three each, while Vander Streek also boasts a team-best eight points. … Fraser Horton's three assists are also a team high. … Luke Strom has played all but 14 minutes in goal for the Gusties, boasting a 0.84 goals-against-average and an .821 save percentage. Strom has stopped 32 of the 39 shots he's faced and has also recorded two shutouts. … The Gusties have been very balanced, scoring six times in both halves.
