MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's basketball team, coming off an impressive second-half performance en route to a 62-53 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over St. Olaf at the SMU Gym on Wednesday, hits the road Saturday, traveling to Concordia for a 1 p.m. conference matchup against the Cobbers.

The Records:
Saint Mary's Cardinals (3-6 MIAC / 4-8 Overall)
Concordia Cobbers (7-2 MIAC / 8-4 Overall)

Last Action: Jessica Thone (Woodbury, Minn.) scored 21 points and Sarah Adie (Chanhassen, Minn.) chpped in 17, as the Cardinals rallied from a four-point halftime deficit to beat St. Olaf 62-53 at the SMU Gym Wednesday. Concordia, meanwhile, went on a 12-0 run in the final five minutes of the second half to beat St. Catherine 62-50 in St. Paul, Minn.

A Year Ago: The Cobbers picked up a pair of conference wins in the teams' two meetings last season.

January 11, 2009: Cherie Kulig (Independence, Wis.) scord a then-career high 22 points, but it was not enough, as Concordia's defense stymied the Cardinal offense in an 82-56 Cobber victory at the SMU Gym.

February 18, 2009: The Cardinals' offense was colder than the single-digit temperature outside, as SMU fell behind by as many as 19 in the first half and never recovered, falling to the Cobbers 74-47 in Morehead, Minn.

Saint Mary's Cardinal Notes:
Sarah Adie (Chanhassen, Minn.) scored a career-high 17 points vs. the Oles Wednesday. The 17-points were 15 more than her season average and 11 more than her previous career-best six points netted last Saturday vs. St. Catherine. … Jessica Thone (Woodbury, Minn.) netted a game-high 21 points vs. the Oles Wednesday. It was the second time this season the SMU freshman has scored 20 or more points, and was just six points shy of her career-best 27-point effort vs. Carleton on Jan. 4. … Thone's effort also marked the third time in SMU's last four games that the Cardinals have boasted a 20-opint scorer. … SMU's 38 points vs. St. Olaf were the second-highest second-half offensive effort of the season. … Jamie Stefely (Lisle, Ill.) notched career-bests in points (16) and rebounds (16) en route to her first collegiate double-double vs. Hamline on Jan. 6. … Stefely's double-double was the first of the season for the Cardinals. … SMU held St. Olaf to a season-low 53 points, while also only allowing the Oles to reach the free throw line nine times. … The Cardinals' 80-70 loss vs. Carleton on Jan. 4 was the first OT game of the season and just the second in the last three seasons for SMU. The Cardinals beat Bethel 73-69 in double overtime a year ago. … Jess Miller (Carver, Minn.), who has started every game in her collegiate career — a span of 62 straight starts, enters today's game at Concordia boasting a team-best 12.6 ppg scoring average, while Kulig is also averaging in double figures at 10.5 ppg.
